Pain In Upper Abdomen

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Evergreen, AL

Does anyone else experience pain in their upper abdomen? Im talking about around in the ribcage area. Sometimes I get this really horrible pain that feels like someone is ripping my insides apart. The pain litterally stops me in my track. Im wondering if its related to endo and if it could mean that it has spread.

Then, in my opinion definetely try to rule out gastritis or something like thay first. Is also less invasive than laparoscopy. Talk to your GP, and maybe really ask for an endoscopy.
All the best!!

Hello. I had the same horrible pain you are talking about and it turned out endo related. I don t know what to say about the spread because mine was still just stage 1 but with very very bad pain.
Is there any chance it could be gastritis? Have you had en endoscopy?

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member I had an endoscopy years ago but nothing recent. It's possible that I've developed some gastrointestinal problems since then though.

I have excruciating pain around my Left upper abdomen around the bottom of my ribcage. Sometimes I can't breath in deeply because it hurts. For a while they thought it was my kidney since I have some random tissue growing in my kidney (that they said was white not red so they assumed that it's not endo) but now they're starting to think maybe I have endo ourside the kidney there because it frequently occurs cyclically and with menstrual cramps. I've been in pain for 3 years going through all sorts of tests. Technically I haven't had a laparoscopy so no definitive diagnosis but based on my pelvic exam my gyne thinks it's most likely endo
