Ok this may seem a stupid question. So my surgeon/endo specialist told me I have endometriosis and he removed as much as he could but along with it I have 'trapped blood' and my blood 'washes back' up into me..he told me this after surgery while I was still drugged so I was like oh yeah endometriosis and blood washing back up cool. What the heck is this? I was bleeding everyday horrible stuff coming out of me TMI. I have my post op appt Tuesday but curiosity is killing me. Does anybody else have… read more

Google "Retrograde menstruation" ~ that may be what he was referring to. It's what I have and basically you still have a period, but it occurs inside; it encourages endo growth. I had a lapo in December 2015 ~ stage 4 endo. Removed left ovary and both fallopian tubes. Within 5-6 weeks all the pain was back. Hysterectomy scheduled this Friday, April 22.

I don't know if mine is similar, but my endometrosis forms tumors that fill with blood on my ovaries and I bleed randomly. I went through your same situation. I was forced into menopause and the Lupron injection made me pass out and have urine retention and catheters placed. The first month can be a lot of ups and downs but after that first month the side effects become less and less. Unfortunately it didn't work for me and my endo came back one month into the injection, but I had no pain so that was amazing. I saw a fertility specialist and now am freezing my eggs then trying the injection again. If you have the resources I would also see a infertility or reproductive endocrinologist. They will treat you by trying to save your fertility and handling the pain. Most ob/GYN don't have the fertility knowledge. My fertility specialist also tried some other medication that has helped. Hope this helps!

It sounds so horrible! Yeah I will ask him tues at the follow up appt. I just don't see many women talking about it. My pain is the endo but I couldn't understand the bleeding everyday and that was it.

It's one of the theory's of the cause of endometriosis, retrograde menstration I believe it's referred to.

I've had it a few times. Sometimes when passing cysts. I wouldn't worry about it until you talked to the doctor. Otherwise, you'll lose your mind if you google it and google other medical issues.
