Have You Found Relief With Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Seattle, WA

Having lots of lower back pain, pressure in abdomen, spasms in vagina and the Endo specialist I saw today said I'm having pelvic floor issues. Suggested physical therapy. Has it been helpful to you? How is therapy done on the pelvic floor?

I have found relief!! We do tissue rolling across my abdomen to deal with adhesions, it is very painful, but I have less pelvic pain. I also get my SI adjusted a lot as it is the pelvic floor stabilizers that help to keep this in place. Sometimes the PT will do internal work with a finger, but we have mainly been doing the tissue rolling on my belly to loosen things up for my next surgery. I had to work my way up to kegels as they initially were too painful to do. Find someone who does pelvic floor physio and take it from there. It is slow and painful but will hopefully help!

Physical therapy has help me a lot with my Endometriosis & other medical illnesses. The thing about physical therapy & I think this is with any part of the body.....you have to find a physical therapist that deals with that specific illness all the time. I would be hesitant to go to someone who doesn't deal with my illnesses on a regular basis because the experience isn't there. I have been on a number of pain killers & muscle relaxers over the years & none of them even made me feel half as good as physical therapy does. I also do other things more on the alternative/holistic side as well to help alongside my physical therapy.

It didn't help me only seemed to make the pain a lot worse. I was told to do it again and didnt cause I just literally hate dealing with the pain all the time.

No. I didn't get ANY relief with the pelvic floor physical therapy.

EndoBeGone: I no longer use any type of pain medicine, I can't take NSAID because of another illness and narcotics just do the same. Could you tell me more about your alternative/holistic, there isn't really anything like that near me.
