How Many Of You Were On Long Term Birth Control?
Ok so I'm asking this question because my Mom is curious. How many of you were on long term birth control before you started having issues trying to conceive?
My Mom is convinced birth control (or something consumed in our generation) is causing infertility. We know birth control keeps Endo from growing quickly, so I'm not sure her theory applies with our disease. But I told her I would ask
Hello, I have been on different contraceptive pills long term as other treatments haven't worked. I am currently taking 2 different contraceptive pills as after excision of moderate endometriosis my gynaecologist suggested a progesterone only pill but I had erratic bleeding and mood swings as side effects. Yet the Oestrogen only pill wasn't working. So my gynaecologist suggested taking them both back to back. I had a break every 3 months but the periods were horrendous. So now I'm taking them back to back without a break. I had thought for years that doing this wasn't good for me or my fertility but my gynaecoligist said it doesn't cause any harm including to fertility and the pill was originally designed to be taken back to back without a break but that women wanted a break as it showed they weren't pregnant. This was a revelation! Contraceptive pills have worked best for me and I think that if they can stop bleeding which means the endo doesn't progress/or as fast. Then their pluses outweigh their minuses and may indeed preserve fertlity?
Actually the longer you're on birth control, the more helpful it will be when you WANT to become pregnant. Yes, it may take longer....depending on what forms you were on. But depending on what you've been on last, you theoretically should be able to become pregnant a month after being off of whatever.
Being on birth control for almost 20 years had nothing to do with my infertility, and the estrogen in the pill is much lower than our bodies produce, so I have no idea how bad my endo would have been without it, and it was bad. I had "unexplained infertility" and an ectopic pregnancy because, as it turned out, my reproductive parts were completely smooshed together from endo. This is how I found out I had it. The infertility rates due to endo are astonishing, share them with your mom.
I was diagnosed endometriosis at the age of 19 . Doctor advised to take birth control pills such as Ovaral tablet every day 1. I started using this birth control pill from 2021. Everyday i am consuming tablet at night time .It helped me to reduce pain because it prevents periods and also my ovarian cyst size decrease changes take place.Once I stopped using this Ovaral l tablet periods came back and there is chance to regrowth of ovarian cyst.
