Can Normal Sex Trigger Endo Pain And Bleeding?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Omaha, NE

I am in a new relationship, and roughly half the time we have sex (which is once or twice a week), I bleed for 2-3 days afterward with pain that is concistent with a bad period/endo. I know endo can CAUSE painful sex, but the sex itself hasn't been painful. Is there a linkage here? Is there something I can do to minimize bleeding and pain after sex?

I bled a lot and had pain. I couldn't get through gyno exams or transvaginal ultrasound without crying. Turns out I had a lot of Endo and one was a hole in my cervix. You need treatment! I haven't had sex since my surgery but I'm sure I would not experience the same pain and bleeding as before.

I now have mirena in so I don't bleed after but I have now started with pain after sex. Men are so lucky they enjoy go to sleep we left with after effects. Have a word with your gp or get referred to endo specialist i found mine more understanding they gynae dr good luck
