Pain During And After Sex Question
Hello! I'm new on here :) so lately I've been having a lot of pain after sex and some pain during sex (only when I'm on top though) sorry TMI! I don't have any bleeding but I think thats probably because I've been on the depo for over a year. I'm stopping that next week though when it runs out. I'm having my first laparoscopy on Thursday so my question is, will the laparoscopy improve the painful sex thing do you think? Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks! xx
Depends. Sometimes pelvic floor therapy is suggested. Please ask your surgeon if they are ablating lesions or excising. There's a huge difference. Ablation has been shown to not provide longterm relief since it burns it off the surface. Excision is cutting and removes all of it. Not many surgeons do excision so it is important to find a specialist.
Hi I only got diagnosed last March through laprascopy had endo removed November through laparoscopy and removed my left ovary due to cyst after recovery I didn't get any pain during sex or after for several months and 10 month later sex isn't painful but my tummy hurts after and I feel and sometimes look very swollen. So hopefully if they remove any endo you may be pain free fingers crossed
Hey hun! Yeah I fully get what you mean about painful sex! I get it no matter the position though, I've had 2 laps and I still have pain during and after sex.. but it is different for everyone! Hope it helps you ππ
Thank you Britt
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member I had painful sex and bleeding. There are a few excision specialists in Illinois. Dr. Charles Miller, Dr. Frank Tu, Dr. Diana Atashroo, Dr. Magdy Milad, Dr. Ranae Yockey, Dr. Barbara Daikos, and Dr. Francisco Garcini. Please look into excision with one of them, it can provide you more than an 80% chance of long-term relief that ablation just doesn't offer.
