I am going in Thursday for a full laparoscopic hysterectomy, has anyone been through it or have any advice for before and after surgery?

I want to send you the best. I am 4 weeks post op. I went in on Aug 10 for a laparoscopic hysterectomy and ended up with abdominal hysterectomy. So I had both of them. I wish someone had warned me about the recovery, staples, mood swings. It was all to much and I was on a lot of pain killers so it was hard to focus on what they were telling me. I was lucky my fiancé was beside me and was able to take it all in and go over it and over it with me until I could wrap my mind around what was being told to me. I was not diagnosed with endometriosis until during my surgery. They had no idea and now I know I have stage 4 and everything was fused together. I'm still recovering. The funny thing is I stocked up on foods I thought I would want after and ended up sending everyone out for what I could eat. I also have celiacs so it's hard to find gluten free stuff sometimes. I wish I had not pushed to leave the hospital. I left after 3 days and they were planning on keeping me another two. I could not sleep in bed, the couch was my best friend. Take the laxatives they give you. You will need them. Pushing is not allowed and you will not want to. I hated having visitors for the first three weeks. They mean well but they ask so much.
You will be ok. You will recover. It just takes time.

The peppermint apparently naturally helps inflammation I keep my kitchen stocked with decaf peppermint tea it always helps when I'm hurting.

I'm really considering having an ovary removed because it's very unwanted and it needs to go. I'm only 29 but I don't plan on being pregnant. Just kinda wanna pick your brain. My friends and family just don't have the answers and can't relate. I'd love to hear your experiences or whatever else you think about it

I did not have a hysterectomy but I do know that in laps they pump your belly up with gas and that part hurt me more than anything else. I don't know how different post surgery rules are than excision or ablation but walking hurts like hell but does help get those bubbles. Oh and peppermint tea. Good luck 🙏

Thank you so much 😊 I'm still a bit scared but I know it's all in Gods hands so I'm trying to relax

My left one is my main problem too, but I'm having them take both and I found several natural ways that I'm going to try to deal with the menopause before considering HRT
