Visanne Extremely Tired. ..anyone Else?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

MI have been taking Visanne for 8 weeks. For about the past week and a half I have been tired, but around 430-5pm extreme fatigue hits me. I am also irritable and less patient, moody, more hair falling out. I gained a pound or two weight wise. In the beginning it was great, I was on Marvelon but my doctor switched me to Visanne and the bloating went down, felt mentally more alert but now this fatigue is awful. I feel drugged. People are even commenting how tired I look.

I went off Visanne beginning of December and I am now on no hormone pills. I could not take the fatigue and impatience. I don't remember if the symptoms were cycle specific but it seemed like the mood problems and fatigue never went away until after I stopped taking them . Energy levels are so much better now . Had to cope with an increase in acne, but I expected that. Trying Monistat yeast cream and Nizoral shampoo for acne and so far it's amazing how it is working.

I’ve been experiencing this too!!! I’ve been on Visanne a year now and it doesn’t matter how much rest or sleep I get, I constantly feel like I’m running on an hours sleep. The fatigue and fog is making my work life impossible.

I’m also finding I’m extremely sensitive to temperature. Either too hot or too cold.

Do you find your symptoms cycle? I find for me, I get the symptoms of ovulation around the time when I typically would and PMS around when I would expect a period (which I do not actually have a period).

Hello, indeed, I have the same symptoms as you with Visanne. I’ve been on it for a month. Extreme fatigue during the day, which has worsened my attention deficit, and I go to bed around 7:30 PM because I’m exhausted. Last week, I felt empty inside and I noticed I was more irritable. In addition to vaginal dryness and breast pain. For the past 3 days, I’ve been feeling better regarding my depressive states and extreme fatigue. I’ve even managed to go to bed around 10-11 PM. I’m currently taking 5HTP (a natural product) for mood. I refuse to take this medication until menopause, so I’m considering stopping it soon with the help of a naturopath. The issue seems to be the liver. It has difficulty processing all the surrounding toxins, such as xenoestrogens in the environment. Maybe try targeting them and reducing exposure as much as possible. I will let you know how the Visanne stop goes soon. Could you keep me updated on how things go for you? Thank you very much.

Hi ladies, i also stopped visanne about a year ago but I still struggle with extreme fatigue (apparently it gave me adrenal fatigue) when does this go away? This is also causing severe water retention (but weight feels horrible with this added water) how long before a person recovers from visanne?

I can relate to that feeling of being drugged at the same time, 4-5pm.... if I take it in the morning.
