Trying To Determine If Endo Has Returned

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello
I had a hysterectomy in 2012 due to a chocolate cyst and elevated ca125. I have 1 remaining ovary and pain returned after 3 years, pain in localized in 2 areas *near appendix* and under left rib. Recently had a colonoscopy...that was clear. This pain comes and goes, could last half hour to a few hours and is relieved by laying on the opposite side of pain
I have so many other symptoms pointing to autoimmune, autoinflammatory diseases. I'm not sure if endo is back but with all these… read more

I had the EXACT same symptoms before my total hysterectomy. Both my ovaries now gone. The endometrioma was so big that it was pushing up on my peritoneal cavity and I had pain under my right rib cage and liver area. At one point, I thought something was wrong with my liver but it wasn't. My ob/gyn said in was a mess inside. My ovarian endometrioma was the size of a cantaloupe and it glued itself to the tubes and onto my right hip wall.

In the last few months, I have been getting bruises on my legs in addition to leg pain. For me, is either due to endometriosis or an enlarged, heavy uterus (suspected adenomyosis and fibroids).

I've been getting the pain around my appendix for about 10 weeks solid now. It will come and go though. It was so sore that pressing in that area would make my leap off the gp bed. I found out I had endo all around my bowel and rectum about 6 weeks ago, then when I had it removed my excision they discovered I have stage 4 adenomyosis and my womb is twice the size it should be. My ovaries are also very swollen. I've done a bit of reading and it's pretty classic for it to press against the colon, sacrum, and organs. I actually have a slight bulge on my right side just above where appendix would be and I think it's from everything being pushed upward. Hope this helps some! X
