MRI Scan
Has anyone had an MRI Scan to find endo? Did they see it? If so why do we not have these to check instead of having ultrasound scans n opps to find it? Xx
It has to be pretty well established to see it on MRI, or maybe if you have organs stuck together due to endo. The only real way to diagnose is a laparoscopy. I have stage 4 endo and adenomyosis where my womb is huge, and no one ever picked anything up in any of my scans, now one saw my huge uterus on a CT scan (MRI is the only thing I haven't had yet - due to have one for potential Chrons). Keep fighting, it's best to know how extensive it is, especially if your wanting to get pregnant as removing the endo could help your chances.
Unfortunately no radiology scans pick up the majority of endo. Would be nice if they did.
Lap is the only way for sure. When they get inside then they know.
They do the scans to make sure there's nothing else wrong. Mostly endo can only be seen when you have a lap. It can sometimes be seen on scans, but rarely. x
I just had an MRI done a couple of weeks ago that found endo on my sigmoid colon. I am about to have endo surgery #4 in 3 weeks. This was my first ever MRI. Been dealing with endo since 2011.
