Was It Difficult To Get Pregnant?
I was diagnosed with endo at 17 and I am now 23. My boyfriend and I are both in medical school and we plan on getting married and starting a family in a few years. Should I expect to struggle to become pregnant?
I think it’s just different for everyone. I’ve heard stories on both ends of the spectrum, easy and hard. For me, I have a lot of obstacles bc the disease is advanced and has impacted a lot of things internally, as well as hormonal issues and was given a less than 1% chance of conceiving. However, I conceived rather quickly, but it ended in mc and we are still trying naturally. I know there are people who end up going the IVF route and apparently this is not uncommon for endo sufferers. However, I’ve heard stories of people at all different stages of endo getting pregnant with ease and vice versa, so it’s impossible to say for sure. My doc told me that they are all just making educated estimates based on statistics, but I could get pregnant tomorrow bc even they can’t say for sure, so to take it with a grain of salt. This helped me to relax a bit. I hope that you are able to breeze through the process. The best advice I can give would be to go straight to a fertility specialist and get their insight (this gave me great relief to just understand how to approach) if fertility is your number one concern. Just my 2 cents.
