Has Anyone Done IVF ?
Hi ladies,
Hubby and I are considering doing IVF. Would love to hear from those of you that have done it. I have endo and fibromyalgia. I am not sure how much worse my pains cam get if I go through with IVF. Not even sure if it'll work since I have endo. We've been trying for 5 years, but sex is pretty painful so we are not super active. Sorry for the TMI.
I’m too scared to try IVF and it not take. We don’t have the money for that. But I am curious, what diagnosis came first endo or fibromyalgia?
I'm similar to ShortyB123 in that I had a HSG, still didn't fall pregnant, then did two IUIs (before reading up on the fact that endo significantly reduces your chances of a successful IUI). After that I was put on Zoladex, which puts you in temporary menopause & is meant to help shrink your endo. I then had a massive surgery with both of my fertility drs working on me to remove as much endo as possible & unstick everything. My first try at an egg retrieval was cancelled due to poor response. My 2nd cycle we had to freeze all embryos because my uterus was out of synch. So after waiting 2 more months we finally got to do a frozen embryo transfer which was successful. I now have a beautiful 2 year old girl :) Sorry for the novel! I wish you the best of luck. IVF is exhausting, but worth it when it all works out.
Going through IVF currently. My doctor didn't seem to think my endo was a barrier to it although he did recognise that that was the likely reason for my secondary infertility.
And ps... I feel ya on the pain.... particularly so for me right before that time of the month.
I have Endo and I assume hashimotos. I haven't been officially diagnosed but was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 2007. My mother and now my sister have hashimotos. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for over 3 yrs. In 2016 I did an hsg, then last year had lap and finally started fertility treatment. We started with 2 rnds of iuis with no luck. Then moved to IVF at the end of the year. It only took one round and one embryo and happy to report that I am 8 weeks pregnant. There is hope!! I did an autoimmune protocol which was recommended by my RE for endo. I don't know if it was the IVF itself or protocol but so far so good. As far as Endo with ivf, I actually didn't have any more pain than normal. I would never have thought I would do IVF, but I honestly don't know if I would have become pregnant had I not tried. Nothing else worked for us. Best of luck!
