Endo & Ovarian Cysts Qs

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone know if ovarian cysts are common to get with Endometriosis? I just found out I have a cyst..I have not been officially diagnosed with Endometriosis, but my Gyno and Docs are pretty positive I do..just haven't done surgery to officially diagnose.

That's right. I forgot what they were actually called. I get so confused. I actually had one on my right and 2 on my left. The one on the right is gone. I have 2 still on my left. I have never been through so many ultrasounds in my life. I feel like all I do is go to ultrasounds.

Yes. They are common. I was diagnosed with Endometriosis in December and I get them quite frequently. I am now on birth control to help with shrinking them and decreasing the chance of getting more of them. They hurt and they suck. I heard countless times about if they are small they don't hurt. Wrong for me..that was coming from my gyno. Feel better.

Yes, unfortunately mine are due to surgery though. I had a deep nodule removed which damaged my left ovary. It hasn't worked the same since. But back in August i was travelling out of state and had a cyst rupture, i ended up in the ER twice. Since then its happened 4 more times, all on my left ovary. Its now adhered to my intestines and basically just controlling my entire life. I want my ovary out completely but they won't do that yet.

I really feel for anyone else suffering with this, its really the worst.
