How Many Of You Have Seen An Excision Specialist?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Seattle, WA

I was recently told by my physical therapist that all women with endometriosis should see a specialist. She made some very valid points. I was just wondering if any of you ladies have been to one and if so what was your experience? I would like to have an excision surgery, and am nervous.

Thank you! I will call them just to be sure. Can't hurt to see him in the meantime and possibly see her later. My physical therapist was the one who actually told me I needed to see a specialist. She recommended Dr. Duke and Mosbrucker. She said she has worked with Dr. Duke lol

I have an appointment with him Monday! I am glad you have heard good things about him. I know he isn't as experienced as Dr. Mosbrucker. I am just going for a consult, surgery will be a while down the road.. I guess I could still switch insurances to see Dr. Mosbrucker for surgery, but right now I need to see someone! I don't want to just write him off though because he hasn't been practicing as long as her. I'm just nervous and want the best lol!

Thank you so much! I went to your page and read a lot of your stuff. Very useful! Now I wish I could see Dr. Mos lol so much more! More than likely I will go and talk to this Dr in Idaho that does excision surgeries because I just can't wait much longer. Very nice to meet you and hear your stories. Thanks for sharing! I'm happy you're not in as much pain as you were before and you have found things that work for you!

Thank you! I really wish I had researched before my first and only lap. I was so excited to see Cindy Mosbrucker after reading about her and finding that she's so close to me. Unfortunately she's not in network with my insurance according to my insurance. So the other dr that is close and is in network with my insurance is Adam Duke. I'm not sure what schooling makes someone an excision specialist, but he has received advanced pelvic surgery training by completing a 2 year fellowship. I have done some research on him and he sounds good not near as much experience as Cindy. I have thought about even switching insurances just to see Cindy. I am so happy that you have had good results from your excision surgeries. I do agree with it being the gold standard for treatment. If you don't mind me asking, who did you see for your surgeries? Were they performed by the same dr? Were you overall satisfied with the treatment? I have been so disappointed with the care I have received over the years from just general OB's. I want to do it right this time around. So I can start healing! Thank you for your support and wisdom!
