Endo Friendly Foods?
Hello!
Have any of you tried the endo friendly diet? Did it work or not? What should I eat and what should I eliminate from this diet? I’m going to meet with a qualified dietitian at the hospital soon (she is part of the endo clinic team) and I need to prepare a list of questions for her about this diet. Thanks in advance. Suggestions welcome as to what to ask her. I am seriously considering trying out this diet to see if it makes a difference but I wanted to ask you first for advice. Please… read more
I found avoiding foods with gluten and reducing red meat helps. I eat lots of fresh oily fish, no diary except lactose free cheese, reduce sugar drastically more fruits and vegetables like broccoli and greens helped a lot including flaxseed and an omega nut and seeds mix
I went gluten-free. diary-free and sugar-free (mostly) and I think it helped tremendously
I would say: stay away from coffee, chocolate, ice cream or dairy products, red meat.
My dietitian suggested the low Fodmap diet to me for endo. You can google fodmap diet and it will give you lots of information. It is actually an ibs diet. It is very restrictive, no gluten, no dairy, no nuts amd seeds, and a lot of fruits and vegetables, especially onions and garlic, which is in pretty much everything you buy on store shelves. I was so desperate I stick with ot for 2 weeks, and it actually helps. I found out what are the trigger 'elements', with that knowledge I can pick my food.
I will also try Katherine's suggestions.
