Insomnia Due To Fatigue

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have extreme fatigue due to my endometriosis as well as vitamin deficiency. Because of this during flare ups I tend to sleep allot and it impacts my ability to be productive and interferes with my work. Also allot of the time no matter how much I sleep I still feel tired. Since having my daughter I feel guilty when I'm not productive and as a result I've started to have some anxiety about sleeping too much. Anytime I have energy I find I'm scared to go to sleep because I'm worried when I wake… read more

Yes it's been forever with being an insomniac for me. My mom actually said even as a baby and child I had trouble sleeping. But definitely got worse when all my health issues got bad. My husband got me this watch type thing that regulates your temperature so u download the app to connect it to this watch and set it to sleep mode and when I get a hot flash it sends a cooler temp to your wrist and if I get too cold it sends a warm temp to it. It's actually helped a bit. U should give it a try. It's called embr wave. Also just started trying the DrTeals sleep spray it has melatonin and essential oils in it. I just spray it on my feet before bed and my pillow so we will see how well that works. My husband's boss believes In all this like natural stones and stuff and gave me thos metal thing that has 5 balls in it and it's supposed to help relax you. U wear it on a necklace so it's laying right next to your heart. I have not tried it yet but I will...eve. though I don't believe in that kind of stuff lol.

Omg it's terrible yes! I've been kinda an on and off insomniac for over a decade now. Doesn't matter how much I sleep I still feel extremely tired all the time. I'm sorry.

Yes! Definitely! I'm up till about 2 am every night anymore. Sometimes, I get a bunch of stuff done while it's quiet and there's nothing that can possibly interrupt me; but, most of the time, I just waste time on my phone. Lol. The longer I stay up, the later I sleep in, though. I've tried a more strict regimen to try to get to bed earlier, but I've found it stresses me out more because I really feel the time crunch. For me, the best thing seems to be to mentally occupy myself with something detailed that I can mull over, but doesn't have a big impact on my life (like watching a very deep movie that keeps my interest, but doesn't bring up things that'll stress me out). Sci-fi stuff seems to do the trick most often. When I'm done watching, I'll go over the complicated detailed in my head like I'm studying a synopsis and it usually helps me fall asleep. I know screen time is supposed to make insomnia worse, but that feeling of your eyes getting dry from watching too much seems to actually nudge me towards bed. I'd had insomnia for as long as I can remember. Mine comes from emotional trauma, as well as endo pain, and that makes it infinitely more difficult to manage!
