How Long Did It Take You To Recover From Laparoscopic Surgery?
My doctor put on my form that I only need to take one day off for the surgery and then the next day from work. Does that seem right?? I know I shouldn’t believe everything I read on the Internet or see on TikTok, but so many people have said that it took them at least a week to start moving around normally again.
One day!? I was flat on my back the next day. Is your doctor a man lol?
I needed closer to two weeks off but I took one I think, and I was able to work from home during that time thankfully. My surgery took 3 hours or more and my endo was severe so that impacted recovery time. Theres no way to know the severity of what they will find so take as much time as you can. I'd say 3 days minimum. Even after the initial healing process it can take a year for your uterus to heal all the way, but normal activity can resume well before a year. Best of luck! Getting a diagnosis can be bitter sweet but live changing in some great ways as well! I'm wishing the best.
I was doing pretty well after surgery, walking, eating etc, but you can’t lift anything and have to limit what you do. I would definitely take more than a day but every person is different. I had a lap surgery at 8.5 mo pregnant and I had an awful recovery. Because they are basically blowing you up like a balloon you can experience a lot of gas build up that can be worse or better depending on the person. But honestly I haven’t heard of many bad post op experiences!
1 day is just insane! My Laproscopy is next month and my surgeon says I’ll be given a month to rest and recover, even though he said I should be good to go back to normal activities in 7-10 days
Are you in the US? I was signed off for two weeks when I had my first laparoscopy in the UK. One day is just crazy :(
