Help, I Feel Lost! Any Advice For Someone Awaiting Final Diagnosis That Has To Wait For Three More Weeks?
Hi everyone!
This is my first post on this platform as I have just made an account. I have been dealing with a long list of pains for more than 2 years now. It all started when I went of the pil and has gotten slowly worse by the month. My symptoms include extreme back- and hip pain, pain traveling from back to legs/knees, IBS-M, pain when bladder is full, heavy and long periods, irregular period, iron-deficiency, pain above and next to belly button, painful sex, and food sensitivities.

Your pain sounds somewhat similar to the issues I was having! After 5 years of suffering and undergoing 2 surgeries, I finally found a doctor who listened. She performed excision surgery, removing extensive scar tissue that had spread throughout my body, particularly on my bladder. Additionally, she excised a fibroid tumor, bringing me long-awaited relief.
For years, doctors would dismiss my concerns, repeating the same diagnoses and referring me to GI specialists. I'm grateful to have found a doctor who took my symptoms seriously and provided effective treatment.
Girl yes you are not alone! I’m 27 and have been trying to get a diagnosis for the past 2 years. The doctors don’t take us seriously just because we’re women and young, I’ve been going through the same thing.
I would say come prepared to your appointment whether you need to bring in a notebook or a whole binder and be as detailed as you can be with what you’ve been experiencing. Also support! It sounds like you have an amazing bf, if he or someone else can be with you at your appointment to help advocate for you too, there’s strength in numbers!
You’re not alone and I hope your appointment goes well and you get the help you deserve 🫶🏼
I know exactly what you're going through. I'm 32 but was diagnosed at 29. Girl it's because we're young! Doctors don't want to listen or take us seriously. I had to go through several gynecologist and a couple gastrointologist before being diagnosed. You have to keep trying because you know your body better than anyone. Anyways try to take care of yourself. Get plenty of sleep, stay hydrated, eat well and take pain medication. Endometriosis can affect your whole body. I wish you good luck and I hope you find a solution that works best for you.
I’ve had it for years. I went to see my family doctor on Friday. At the appointment I asked her to recommend something for me. I’m on a medication now to help with the pain in question.
Best wishes. I hope this works. Oh and I have used a hot water bottle in the past. You could try that. You can do this. Try to relax.
Thank you so much for your reply! I really do hope your appointment goes well and you find a treatment that you feel comfortable with together with your surgeon.
Knowing I am not alone definitely is making this better and also finding stories on this platform and support is really great!
Again, thank you for your reply, I really appreciate you taking the time and sharing your story with me and the other people on the platform ♥️
