What Was Endo Surgery Like And The Recovery Process?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Finally got diagnosed the end of last year with endometriosis. I also have interstitial cystitis (pelvic pain syndrome) and pelvic floor dysfunction. I have never had surgery and it is going to be a joint surgery with my bladder specialist and endometriosis specialist. They are going to look inside the bladder during the surgery as well

You're welcome! Everyone heals at a different rate, but I would think that since it'll be almost 3 weeks, you'll be recovered enough to attend right on time. Thank you, and good luck with your surgery - I'm sure it'll go well and hopefully bring you some relief! 💞

I have IC along with other diagnosed illnesses.
For IC , which is been terrible for me, I had an implant on my spinal nerve, its called a sacral implant modulation.
Its been life changing, it helped my bladder tremendously.
Endometriosis and other illnesses continues but for my bladder situation it helped. Just an idea to discuss maybe with your doctor as an option.

I would say it depends how severe everything is when they go in for surgery but I would say 4-6 weeks but I would say don't overdue it as it can cause more pain and try to seat when possible. I've had four surgeries and all somewhat different. I also have bladder issues and adenomyosis. Good luck and I hope you have a smooth healing process. Enjoy your birthday gifts.

Thank you so much for your insight! I was just concerned about the recovery time because I'm suppose to go to Columbus Ohio (almost 3 hr drive ) on March 16th to see this awesome lineup of bands and then March 20th is a concert in my area where I am doing a meet and eat with Zach Williams before the concert. These were my birthday presents so I'm hoping il be ok being I have surgery Feb 24th.

Also just super nervous since I haven't had any surgery before. I will pray for healing for you and hope your symptoms now get better!!

I'd estimate a recovery time of 3-6 weeks. Personally, I had surgery just three weeks ago to remove extensive endometriosis growths from my bladder and a fibrosis tumor from my uterus , and I'm still healing somewhat.
