Anyone Taking Visanne Have Prolonged Periods?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Mississauga, ON

I started taking visanne 7-8 weeks ago and had a noticeable reduction in pain however my first cycle while on the medication hasnt stopped and I'm going on 4 weeks. My gyno is suggesting I tough it out since it's working to reduce pain but I'm inclined to stop if the bleeding continues. Everything I've read so far about visanne indicates your period should become lighter and maybe even disappear so I'm wondering if anyone else had this side effect and was there a way to stop the bleeding?

Hi darling,

I wanted to update you on my experience with Vissane. I had a 3-week period while taking it, which was mostly light. After that, my period stopped completely, and I haven't had one in 4… read more

Should I Put Endometriosis On My Health Form If I Have Not Been Given A Written, Proper Diagnosis, But On Treatment For It Anyhow?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Belle Plaine, KS

Okay, so hear me out, ladies. I know that question probably sounds like I'm someone who self-diagnoses or something like that. Let me explain myself; I'm on birth control, the only form of treatment available for me, and I've had symptoms for about 6+ months. I'm fairly young, and live in a fairly small town with doctors that really do try their best, but can only do so much. My doctor feels that I am too young to have a lap, but did tell me when I first started my medication that, if it helps… read more

Visanne And Periods?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Victoria, BC

For those of you who have been on Visanne did you notice a change in your periods? My first one on it came late and lasted for about two weeks and this one is even later or possibly non-existent I had some cramps around the time I should have gotten it and maybe a drop. Can it stop your period altogether? My doctor never mentioned it when she prescribed it to me and it slipped my mind to ask. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I Know Nothing About Visanne Please Help :-(

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Thailand

Hi, I’m Thai so please excuse my english in advance. I’m only 19 years old and I took Yasmin for 2-3 years ago for cramps pain but the pain didn’t go away at all. So my doctor prescribed me Visanne bc she said I have endometriosis. I’ve only taken it for 24 days now and according to my past cycle my period should come know
So here are my questions
1. Does Visanne stop period immediately or it should still come normally or it depends on individual? Since I only use male condom for contraceptive… read more

Visanne is not a contraceptive pills. Use condom if you dont want to get pregnant. And yes, visanne can make your period delay/stop. Sometimes spotting occurs.

Visanne - Symptoms After Stopping Visanne?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Johannesburg, ZA

Hi all,

I've been taking Visanne for a year now and doctor has said I can stop it. How long did it take for your period to return after stopping it? And have you experienced any other symptoms? I've been off it for 2 weeks now. No period yet, but I've had breast sensitivity, increased appetite and increased libido. I would love to hear your experiences!

I wanted to share mine too, because it seems most of you have stopped bleeding while on Visanne and I have not really. My doc said both cases… read more

Anyone Here Taking Visanne And Experienced Non-stop Bleeding After 4 Months? Bleeding Is Still Ongoing For 5 Weeks Now. No Pain

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Phil Campbell, AL

In my first 3 months of medication, my period has completely stopped. However, on my 4th month, I got my period and it’s non-stop. The amount of bleeding varies per day from light to moderate flow. I went to see my OB on my 3rd week of bleeding and she prescribed tranexamic acid for 5 days. The bleeding has improved (got lighter) but it still hasn’t stopped and it goes for 5weeks now.

2nd question of the night.
I'm currently looking into rectovaginal symptoms and I'm coming a cross a number of pages from info sourced in America.
Does all this info apply to sufferers in the UK?
Do our specialists/consultant pay any attention to symptoms, medication and or info sourced from else where in the world?

Has Anyone Used Aspen-Diegnogest/Visanne To Help With Heavy Flow Or Micronor/Movisse And What Side Effects Did You Experience?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been prescribed both in the past and haven't used either as I was concerned about the side effects, especially with Aspen-Diegnogest/Visanne but my flow is out of control and I have endo in many places included bladder and rectum so that makes it worse. I have only used Naproxen for years for the pain but I have been beyond "managing" for a long time now, especially with the flow and I have also learned/realized that this treatment plan does not actually "treat" endo which… read more
