Many women struggle to find the right medication or surgeries for their pain and other endometriosis symptoms. Sometimes women need to have a hysterectomy, which is a surgery to remove their uterus. In cases where women have a hysterectomy to treat endometriosis, surgeons may excise lesions and remove the ovaries (called an oophorectomy) at the same time.

I had a partial hysterectomy 24 years ago. Was promised endometriosis would be gone forever. Nope, I have and endometrioma without a uterus. Would not recommend hysterectomy for endo.
