Do You Think Hysterectomy Will Help?
Hi everyone,
I had 2 surgeries to treat endometriosis which both didn't help with the pain at all. In fact, they gave me more symptoms such as longer heavier period and severe constipation. (As I have stage 4 endo that attached to the bowel and I guess it may affect my nerve to pass the bowel)
After reading stories of other sufferers, I found my case is a little bit different that I do not have everyday pain like others but my pain will be before, during and after having period only but a… read more
Have you looked into the meraina?
It was a God send after my 3rd operation had it fitted. Life changed 5 years no period and no cramps - woo hoo
I was 28 years old when Dr William Bilek told me you have stage the cancer on your cervix so he immediately scheduled surgery. After he removed part of my cervix & a little extra to be on the safe side (laser treatment was the procedure that was needed. Afterwards I went for a checkup and was informed that the surgery was a SUCCESS & no more cancer in sight. Dr Bilek STRONGLY recommended a hysterectomy and that is smthg i truly wish I would’ve had done for so many reasons but I thought I wanted to have 1 more child and I didn’t so I am now 47 and so greatful for this Dr who later retired & if I could give him a hug for what he did for me & my only daughter, he saved my life. I believe It was some form of miracle from God too. He was godsent and since didn’t get a hysterectomy I have the worst periods ever and they were always like this since I was 11 but I am cautious about taking any form of birth control of the side effects that come with that so I will hopefully be thru with the “monthly curse” in the near future. My advice get a hysterectomy if you don’t plan on having any more children or MENSTRUAL CYCLES ever again. I can’t wait for that. And again thankyou DR WILLIAM BILEK for saving my life. I love that man for what💌 he did to keep me alive and cancer free. Any questions I’ll answer them if you need any more info or advice.
Sincerely,
Melissa Beth Pool
Well it will depend on your surgeon mostly whether it will help. They have to remove all your female parts. but also, an appendectom. Whe. I say all, i.mean...cervix removal, remove both fallopian tubes, both ovaries, uterus, nothing left behind. Then do not take prescribed hormone replacements. It will cause regrowth, very very fast, it just un does the surgery...i found amberen..OTC. menopausal symptoms, I will tell you, I have gotten many years of relief, the only reason I have regrowth, is because of prescribed hormone medications. I have found an Over the counter symptom relief, called Amberen. It has saved my life. I do get some cramping but absolutely nothing I cannot tolerate. And also being given Botox injections all over my walls, muscles, have helped sooo much, that now if I get any cramping. It's so minimal, and it just tells me It time for more injections. My specialist does 220cc I get 1 year. And with the amberen the regrowth was minimal, and mostly on my descending colon, I know when that happens, because that has always caused me chronic nausea and vomiting, gets worse weekly till its removed. But it does not cause me pain. Endometriosis so far cannot be stopped, but it can be slowed down. But removal of everything has to be done during the full hysterectomy, i thought my first GYN surgeon knew what a full was....nope....not even when he went in a second time 10 months later...due to more severe cramping ..sooo much regrowth.. he had put me on a very very low dose...lowest possible back in 2007, hormone gel. Was in a pump, you put it on any part of your body 1x a day...yeahh...bad idea...then went without hormones by choice till I found estrogen, but that made me cramp, then by fluke chance. My dad found me Amberen..this has been a blessing from God. It doesn't happen anymore. Now I just have so many other things to handle in-between clean up and botox surgeries. Which I'm trying to prove, Endometriosis is what's going on all over my body, not just female area. But brain, stomach, back, hips, spine, as well. Hope some of this atleast helps.
I would consider the Mirena IUD oppose to the hysterectomy it has been a game changer for me. It has its fair amounts of side effects but knowing a hysterectomy does not remove endo made me dismiss the thought instantly.
I realize this post is years old but my Dr said he had never seen the endometriosis attached to a bowel like he saw with mine. I didn't realize how common this was till I started looking into it. Hope you found relief since this post was written.
