2nd Laparosopic Surgery Coming Up

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Hi
I had my first surgery four years ago, got relief for 2 years now I am back to having debilitating pain. Saw my specialist and he has diagnosed me with adneomyosis, and possible reoccurring endometriosis, I thought it rarely comes back? Should I be worried about having another surgery, I just want the pain to stop or give me a break so I can live

Endometriosis has no known cause and no known cure. There is never a guarantee that it will not return and no doctor can give you such a guarantee. That is why people should be careful in considering hysterectomy of any sort without other contributing issues because it is a major surgery to undergo without a firm guarantee. Some people have one surgery and are ok, others like me, have had six and need recurrent surgeries every year -18 months.

To make things worse after this last cycle my bowel has decided to stop working despite laxatives (argh the pain and nausea driving me insane) and as for my bladder I always feel like I have an infection or something so freaking annoying

Same here. I have been on Estradiol & provera for years & it helped some but it keeps coming back like yours. Best of luck to you.

Had it since 18 and have had quite a few laparoscopies now and hormone treatment. It can be suppressed but unfortunately mine keeps coming back x
