What Are Your Experiences With Having The Mirena Coil Fitted To Help With Endo?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I had the mirena coil fitted after my laparoscopy 8 months ago. 6 months ago I had a scan and was told it was no longer in correct place. It has taken 6 months to get an appointment and I will be having it removed and replaced tomorrow. Although past few months I have been experiencing endo symptoms and pain more severe and regularly again. Usually severe pain when urinating that leaves me crying in the bathroom. ☹️

I had mine replaced it was so painful I was in tears and even screamed anyone would've thought I was giving birth! I screamed when it felt like I had been stabbed in my right side. Last year when I had scan they said I had a benign cyst on right side but hoped it would go. Two days later and I'm still in agony mostly in my right side I don't know if this is normal when having coil in or not. I'm struggling to walk it hurts so bad. I have to wait 3 months now to see if coil works this time and waiting for scan. I also explained that I have endo pain symptoms but my gyno was persistent on me trying the coil again ☹️ I'm so scared about having it out again because of the pain this time if it doesn't work xxx

Mine moved when I had it and caused severe pain and heavy bleeding. I also had an infection from it xxxx I had mine removed after it was deemed more a failure after 1 year of heavy bleeding alot and severe pain, mood swings, irritability. It was awful xxx I wanted it out sooner but they insisted I persist with it as they reckoned it would settle down. It didn't xxxx
