Is It Even Possible To Have Sex And Endo? My Poor Hubby Is So Sweet And Patient But I Know It Bothers Him. What Have Your Experiences Been?
Hi KashinaKumariBugayong-
Yes it is possible, but I think you have to have some realistic expectations. My husband and I take advantage of the "good days" where I am feeling pretty good and not having a rough time with the pain. These days are pretty uncommon, but fortunately I do have them. I have also told my husband that we need to make the sex short and sweet, because for me it seems that the longer we go, the harder it gets for me to stay in the game. My experience is that we don't do a lot of foreplay before hand either, as the increased blood flow and nerve stimulation can trigger uncomfortable pressure/pain so we just go for it without a lot of leading up to the event. Sometimes I have an orgasm and sometimes I don't but I stopped making that the goal a long time ago, as I see sex between us now as more a confirmation of our feelings for each other and less about the purpose of physical pleasure- I think endo can make the physical pleasure difficult but not impossible. We spend more time afterward with touching and being loving. A good lubricant that is non-petroleum based is important to me--I like Luvena. You will most likely have to experiment on what works and doesn't work for you. But for me the timing has been really important.
