Period But No Ovulation?

My doctor told me to start using an ovulation test kit, I tested for a week and never got a positive, but this month my period has came a week early so I think that may be some of the issue. I've used the kits in the past and have never got a positive. While scheduling my 2nd lap today, my doctor made the statement that since I have a period every month, I'm obviously ovulating. Yes you get periods without ovulating. Ovulation is the release of the egg that will plant itself into the endometrium if fertilized. Your period will come whether you ovulate or not. Your period is essentially the shedding of what would hold the baby in because you are not pregnant so it does not need to be there

I believe u can get a period without ovulating or you could have a week ovulation and maybe the tests are,not picking up the hormone levels

How many times a month do u test? Maybe u r an early or late ovulator. When i used the tests i found out i ovulated on day 17 of my cycle.
