Preparing For A Hysterectomy
After 20+ years of dealing with the pain and all that comes with ends, I have decided to have a hysterectomy. It is scheduled for Nov. 28th. I am wondering if anyone has any tips of what to take to the hospital or make sure to have at home for recovery. I am a bit of a control freak, and there isn't really anything I can control about this whole thing, other than having what will help and make me most comfortable as I heal. Any advice is greatly appreciated

Is it laparoscopic? Loose comfy jammie pants or trackies. The top two incision sites are where a mid-rise waistband would be... so nothing firm that will cause you pain/discomfort. Pads at home in case you have a bit of post-op bleeding. Magazines, chocolate, movies :-) Relax and don't do too much until your body is ready. Hope your op goes really well and frees you from endo completely :-)
I appreciate it! I'm nervous, but hopeful.
Drink LOADS of water before and after. Keep hydrated its important
Wow, you'll be relaxing for a bit longer than I had to! Enjoy the forced relaxation as much as you can. I hope this operation gives you total freedom :-)
Thank you, Sparrow! I am having a full abdominal hysterectomy.
