Have You Ever Had A Perfectly Normal Transvaginal Ultrasound BEFORE Being Diagnosed With Endo?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

My ultrasound came back normal despite my doctors hunch for endometriosis. Though good news- I am discouraged that my pain didn’t have answers. Are some stages of endo easier to see than others?

Yes! I have had a "normal" ultrasound before being diagnosed.

My doctor said that endometriosis can not normally be picked up by ultrasound. I had one and they only saw the endometrioma and simple cyst growing on the endometrioma. Although I was supposed to start my period the next day, he did say that my uterus looks good but my body is not getting ready for menstruation from the looks of it. I did get my period however and that was the second hint that I had endo. My blood pressure spikes when I have pain. It was only confirmed after my laproscopy.

I had countless ultrasounds and it never picked up anything so the doctor told me it was in my head 🤦🏻‍♀️. The only thing that showed it was the laparoscopy.

I had loads of ultrasounds and no one ever picked up stage 4 endometriosis or stage 4 adenomyosis. My uterus is twice the size it should be with adenomyosis, so when they said the lining is think and healthy, what they were actually seeing was a uterus full of small tumours. I even went to an ultra sound a few years ago because my stomach looked like it had a slight bump on one side - they said everything was healthy but turns out it was my uterus growing. A laparoscopy is the only way to diagnose endometriosis. X
