Hello, Has Anyone Had Their Endo Show Up On An Mri Before Lap Surgery? Did It Turn Out To Be Worse Than The MRI Had Shown?

They usually don’t show it. Only a surgery can really see it. I had an mri too and it showed nothing. I have severe endo and they didn’t even see it on mri

Definitely depends on the doctor, the radiologist and the location of the endo. I had an MRI that said "unlikely endo" then was referred to another gynae because my first one didn't believe the report, told me endo wasn't something she knew a lot about and she sent me to her colleague. Her colleague is a endo specialist and he did an ultrasound and immediately saw endo. Turns out that I had stage 4 endo that the radiologist, I guess, wasn't trained to see on a very expensive MRI. Trust your symptoms

In Romania before any endo surgery You do a mri with endometriosis protocole ,meaning a gel is inserted in vagina and colon. That mri is read by a imagist specialized in endometriosis. The cysts that appear on the uterus and ovaries have to be seen in surgery so they can tell for sure what kind of cysts they are. I dont know If any lession on diaphagram appear in mri or is discovered just in surgery. In my case ,my mri was accurate in proportion of 90%. In Romania the mri tells You what stage you are before the surgery.

I am due to have a lap soon in the Uk, but really worried it will show nothing. The scans have shown nothing- but the pain has been horrific at times. I had a coil fitted and found some relief with this. Is it normal to feel so worried that they WON’T find endo?? I feel crazy
