I'm on my second coil, so had one in for about 6 years now, and i still get awful cramps and irregular periods. However it has reduced the bleeding, so there is one positive! My pain levels vary month to month, this cycle is the worst in a long time. Ask your doctor about a mini pill combo, they can help in some women's cases. I am possibly starting one soon, just waiting to hear back about an appointment! Hope you feel better soon x

I have experienced severe nausea and painful boobs with Mirena. I have never had such painful breasts in my entire life until I got the coil in. I still get severe cramping pains when i should be having my 'period' even if I don't bleed. I've also experienced night sweats. I have had mine in for about 6 months as well.

Hey hun :) I too have the mirena coil in for 4 years now. I've had all of what you describe - feeling sick, sometimes vomiting, feeling cold & hot, weak and achey. I also get terrible night sweats most nights, not nice. I've had terrible cramps and worse stabbing pains at all times of the month. My periods have been completely irregular - might have one this month and none for 3/4 months or maybe again in 2 weeks! It's nuts I can't really keep track. But on the upside I haven't been to the hospital for 3 years, before having my last lap and getting mirena in I could be in the hospital every month so I guess there is an improvement if you can overlook all the negatives!
