Hello! So, my OBGYN is telling me she thinks I have endometriosis with everything that’s been going on with my ovaries. She is recommending to have surgery to have the endo removed (I’ve had multiple vaginal ultrasounds done). She recommends I have the Kyleena 19.5 mg IUD implanted during surgery to help with this. I have seen some posts about someone saying that the doctor must have done an ablation not excision.
What is ablation?
I know mine was excision.

I am scheduled for surgery to find out if i have endometriosis. I wonder if it is what i have or something else. I feel just nausea right now and about a week and half away from getting my cycle. Occasional pain in lower stomach that is like sharp, and will get sharp pain through pelvic area also. All around just feel crappy. Anyone have that and its endo?

I’m wondering why it is not a good option to do a combination of excision and cauterizing surgery? The laparoscopic surgery I am currently scheduled for my gynecologist does both excision and cauterization. I’ve been reading that excision only is the way to go. But I would like to know why. I’m currently debating whether not to cancel my scope and try to find another surgeon.

Who has had excision surgery and has it helped with your pain?? My pain is so severe that it’s affecting my entire life. I am considering this option but I am terrified. My endometriosis got a lot worse once I tied my tubes.
