Period Pain Relief

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Curious what others use when they have terrible cramps. I end up with such awful pain that I have to take dangerous amounts of ibuprofen. I've been getting serious side effects and am worried about kidney/liver damage, along with the ulcers and bleeding. Tylenol doesn't work for me, and I haven't been prescribed anything else.

I've previously tried suppressing my periods with different birth controls but it didn't work for me. And I won't take Lupron. I want a hysterectomy but no one has… read more

Ohhh, that gas pain!

At the hospital, I was given Tylenol 3, as well as something else which eludes me now, but the best and most annoying solution was to walk a tiny bit each day. A heating pad… read more

Do Any Of You Deal With Severe Stomach Pain? What Do You Do For It?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Pittsburgh, PA

I’ve always gotten this, but it has gotten so much worse in the past few months. I struggle to describe it. My stomach gets so tight and it feels like the inside is pressing out. It almost feels like gas pain but it’s different I just can’t describe it. But it makes me feel sick. I get it every time I flare up now.

I completely understand the desire to be holistic. If you’re comfortable, find an acupuncturist who can provide herbal treatments. This helps. I think my dietary changes were equally impactful. I… read more

Showering/hair Washing After Surgery

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Maple Grove, MN

Hi everyone,
I had laparoscopy a week ago today to remove endo and my appendix. I am wondering (for those who have had the surgery) how long was it before you could shower 'normally' again and what you did know the mean time. I'm especially having difficulty figuring out how to wash my hair cuz dry shampoo only goes so far lol

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Fort Worth, TX

I had surgery for severer endo that went undiagnosed for 15 years (always told it was bad cramps) and they put me on a low dosage of BC after to control my estrogen. 3 months in, it wasn't working, was still getting a period while on it so they switched me to nuva ring, again, didn't work, still bleeding. They put me on an aromotase inhibitor with progestrone, I've been on it for a month and once again, not working, got another period. I don't know what my options are? Am I just screwed… read more
